The water-repellent inner membrane makes the work boot water-resistant even for prolonged use in wet or muddy environments.
The Makalu safety boots are manufactured in Italy and packed in top quality treated leathers.
Inside they are lined with full-grain leather to give the safety shoe a comfortable fit.
The Makalu work boots are available both as safety work boots with a protective toe and in a version without a toe cap.

Light safety toe cap
Particularly lightweight composite toe cap that provides high thermal insulation and total foot protection in the event of objects falling from above, from impacts of up to 200J, which is equivalent to the energy caused by a stone of 10kg from a height of 2m.
High Flex Perforation proof midsole
Anti-puncture midsole made of high-strength and highly flexible synthetic polymer fiber. It contributes to high thermal insulation of the shoe. Extremely light and comfortable, the high flex midsole guarantees total protection of the foot from the risk of wounds, cuts and punctures.

FO - Resistance of the sole to hydrocarbons
Work shoes equipped with soles designed to resist prolonged contact with oily substances and hydrocarbons without undergoing structural alterations. The laboratory test involves immersing the compound in Trimethylpentane, verifying that the swelling and increase in volume of the sole do not exceed 12%, thus ensuring the stability and durability of the shoe over time. This requirement is mandatory for work footwear according to the 2011 standard, while it becomes additional and optional for the 2022 standard.
HRO – Heat-resistant sole for contact
Soles that are resistant to heat contact. The test involves contact with a hot surface of 300°C for 60 seconds without visible damages.
CI - Cold insulation
Work shoes designed for outdoor use with exposure to atmospheric agents at low temperatures. The entire footwear is subjected to a specific test at −17 °C, verifying that the drop in internal temperature is not lower than the required standards, thus ensuring perfect maintenance of the foot's thermal comfort.
WR - Waterproof shoe
Safety shoes totally waterproof thanks to upper, seams and joints tested to prevent the entry of liquids. The waterproofness of the entire shoe is tested by placing it in a water tank and subjecting it to a dynamic flexion or mechanical walking test.
HI - Isolamento dal calore
Work shoes designed to protect the foot from heat transmitted by conduction. The entire footwear is tested on a surface at 150 °C, verifying that the increase in internal temperature does not exceed the required standards. They guarantee effective thermal insulation in environments such as foundries, steel mills, industrial plants and road construction sites where work is performed on hot surfaces.
SC - Scuff cap abrasion resistance
Safety shoes equipped with a toe cap with high resistance to abrasion, tested with 8,000 Martindale cycles. The Martindale test evaluates the durability of the material in the toe area, ensuring that the work shoe maintains its protective features over time even in the most wearing working conditions.
LG - Ladder grip system
