WPA

Safety shoes with the WPA requirement (Water Penetration and Absorption), complying with the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard, are made with a upper crafted from water-repellent materials that limit water penetration and absorption. The certification test involves continuous flexing of the upper in contact with water for 60 minutes: at the end of the test, penetration must not exceed 0.2 g and absorption must remain below 30%. The WPA requirement replaces the previous WRU designation and applies exclusively to the upper: unlike the WR requirement, it does not certify the waterproofness of the entire footwear, into which water could still penetrate through seams and joints. Work shoes with the WPA requirement are ideal for outdoor activities in the presence of rain, humidity, or wet ground, such as construction, agriculture, gardening, outdoor logistics, and all environments where the upper is exposed to frequent contact with water.
